Historical Malaysia and Singapore

The Historical Malaysia and Singapore tour takes you on a journey to some of Malaysia and Singapore’s best-known historical cities that are abundant in culture, tradition, gastronomic delights and decked with the beauty of post-colonial architecture. You will start your journey with a two-hour scenic journey to the historical state of Malacca. Malacca was founded by Parameswara, also known as Iskandar Shah or Sri Majara, the last Raja of Temasek (present-day Singapore), following a Majapahit attack in 1377. In the year 1511, Alfonso de Albuquerque set sail from Goa to Malacca and later seized the city. Wait, there’s more! Follow us on this tour to learn more.

More Informaton
During the Portuguese rule, the Dutch launched several attacks on the Portuguese colony throughout the first four decades of the seventeenth century. In 1641, the Dutch defeated the Portuguese and captured Malacca. In 1824, Malacca was ceded to the British in the Anglo-Dutch Treaty. From 1826 to 1946, Malacca was under the rule of the British, first by the British East India Company and then as a Crown Colony. It formed part of the Straits Settlements, together with Singapore and Penang. During World War II in 1942 to 1945, Malacca was briefly under the rule of Empire of Japan. Located on the northwest coast of Peninsular Malaysia, by the Strait of Malacca, Penang — otherwise known as the Pearl of the Orient — is another historical state, with its capital, George Town being one UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites. Penang is one of the most developed and economically important states in Malaysia, as well as a thriving tourist destination, being well-known as the gastronomic center of the country. One of the must-do activities, while you’re in Penang, is to eat(!) like there’s no tomorrow. A small neighboring island next to the Malaysian state of Johor, Singapore is a bustling cosmopolitan city that offers a world-class living environment, with the landscape populated by high-rise buildings and verdant gardens. One of the more remarkable aspects of Singapore is the truly cosmopolitan nature of the population, a natural result of the country’s geographical position and commercial success. However, don’t let its modern vibes fool you — Singapore is also steeped in culture, traditions, and history!
