Taman Negeri Rompin (Rompin State Park) is a nature park located in the state of Pahang, Malaysia. The park lodge has recently been upgraded and is highly recommended if you are looking for a nature stay in Peninsular Malaysia.

Rompin Rainforest Lodge
Rompin Rainforest Lodge is a nature retreat and accommodation facility located within the boundaries of Rompin State Park.
The lodge offers comfortable and eco-friendly accommodations, blending seamlessly with the natural environment. The rooms are designed to provide a comfortable stay while allowing guests to immerse themselves in the sights and sounds of the rainforest.

3D2N Sample Itinerary
Day 1 – Arrival to Rompin State Park
Pick-up from your hotel or airport and transfer to the park. You will arrive at the park in the afternoon and have a short familiarization tour around the lodge. Later, you can enjoy dinner at the first-floor restaurant while experiencing the sounds and view of the rainforest. After dinner, you can join the guided night walk, where the guide will search for nocturnal wildlife and demonstrate how the forest comes alive in the darkness.

Day 2: Rompin State Park
In the morning, we will go on a trek to Makhota Waterfall, a natural wonder that stands at 50 meters tall and is located close to the lodge. Visitors come from far and wide to see this waterfall and it is a must-visit spot for anyone who loves waterfalls. We will also take a swim at the waterfall before returning to the lodge.
Later in the day, we will depart from the lodge and go on a river cruise down Kinchin River. We will have a picnic by the riverside before taking a short walk along the river to reach Sungai (river) Kernem. There, we will find a small lagoon with crystal-clear water where we can swim before heading back to the lodge.

Canopy Walkway & Watch Tower

How to get to Rompin State Park
Rompin can be easily accessed from various parts of Malaysia as it is located near the Johor Bahru airport, which has many domestic connections. It is also conveniently accessible from bigger international airports such as Singapore and Kuala Lumpur. Additionally, Rompin is an ideal location for combining a trip to the national park with a visit to Rawa or Tioman Island. The Mersing Jetty, which is used for sea transfer to these islands, is only 1 ½ hour away from Rompin.
Best Season to visit Rompin
The best weather conditions are usually from February to October.
From November to January the lodge is open, but activities are limited and subject to weather conditions.
