Day 1: Arrival Kuala Lumpur

Upon arrival at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), our representative will meet you up and transfer you to your hotel.

Here, you will experience the bustling metropolitan of Kuala Lumpur; also known as the ‘garden city of lights’, which is famous for its shopping, nightlife and delicious food. Witness the intoxicating modernity of KL City as the city that never sleeps. Don’t forget to take this opportunity to shop and eat!

Day 2: Kuala Lumpur Heritage Walk

Heritage plays a big part in shaping today’s bustling KL City and it makes perfect sense to restore and maintain these influential spots.

Gain insight to some centuries-old colonial structures and get inspired by architectural designs. In the heavy traffic of Kuala Lumpur, the best way to discover the old part of the city is by train and on foot.

This tour covers Jamek Mosque, The Colonial Core, Central Market, Sin Sze Si Ya Temple, Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, Little India, as well as Chinatown.

After lunch, you will proceed by train to Batu Caves. The caves are a Hindu Temple and the main attraction is the huge statue of an Hindu God at the entrance.

To enter the caves, there are 272 steps to climb. You will return to the Hotel in the afternoon.

Day 3: Kuala Lumpur / Sandakan

Early in the morning, you will check out from your hotel and we will transfer you to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to catch your flight to the Nature City of Sandakan.

Upon arrival at the Sandakan Airport, you will be transferred to Sandakan or Sepilok area where you will be staying for the night.

Day 4: Sandakan / Lankayan Island

After breakfast, you will be transferred from your hotel to the Sandakan Jetty where you will take a 1 ½ hour boat ride to Lankayan Island Dive Resort where you will be staying for the night.

It will be free and easy for the rest of the day, so you can spend the day exploring the beautiful Island!

Day 5: Lankayan Island

Lankayan Island is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in Sabah, with its beautiful stretch of white sandy beaches, clear azure waters and vast blue skies. You can take a dip in the warm waters or go snorkelling or diving if you’re keen to experience the underwater life. Lankayan is one of the best diving spots in Borneo. Otherwise, just hang out by the beach with your sunnies and enjoy the tropical paradise.

Depending on luck and season, you may also get the chance to swim with turtles at the beach or see them laying eggs on the beach at night (under the supervision of rangers).

Day 6: Lankayan Island / Sandakan / Rainforest Discovery Centre

After checking out from Lankayan Island Resort you will be transferred to Sandakan Jetty. Proceed to visit Rainforest Discovery Centre. Take a bird view of the centre from the canopy walk and hanging bridge before exploring the botanical garden, home to various species of flora. Overnight at Sepilok area.

Day 7: Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre / Sukau Rainforest Lodge

After breakfast, you will visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Watch a short video documentary of the rehabilitation activities before taking a stroll on the boardwalk through the lowland rainforest to witness the feeding of the Orangutans at 10.00 am.

After lunch, transfer by land or boat to one of the lodges along the mighty Kinabatangan River. One of the options is the multi-award-winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

After checking in and enjoying your afternoon refreshment, you will go on a river cruise in search of some of the 10 primate species. Sukau is home to a lot of Borneo’s magnificent wildlife such as the famous Bornean pygmy elephants, orangutans, proboscis monkeys and all eight species of the big hornbill birds in Borneo.

Day 8: Sukau, Kinabatangan River

Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills and hot Sabah tea!

At 6.00 am, you will go on a morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, proceed to have an educational tour at the in-house Hornbill Boardwalk, located behind the lodge with the in-house naturalist.

In the afternoon, you will proceed to have another river cruise for more wildlife sightings. Overnight stay at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

Day 9: Sukau / Sandakan / Kota Kinabalu / Gaya Island

In the morning, after checking out of the Sukau Rainforest Lodge, you will be transferred to Sandakan and subsequently to the Sandakan Airport for your flight to Kota Kinabalu.

Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu, you will then be transferred to Gaya Island — located circa 20 minutes’ boat ride away from Kota Kinabalu. Spend the last leg of your vacation lazing by the pool and soaking up the sun at a luxurious resort on Gaya Island.

Day 10: Gaya Island Resort

Enjoy a leisurely stay at Gaya Island while splitting your time between snorkelling, lounging by the pool and walking on the beach. Just relax and enjoy your stay!

Day 14: Departure Kota Kinabalu

Upon checking out from your hotel on Gaya Island, you will take a boat ride to KK City and take another land transfer to Kota Kinabalu Airport for your departure flight.
