Day 1: Arrival Sandakan / Sepilok

Upon arrival at the Sandakan International Airport, we will meet you and transfer you to your accommodation. Stay in Sepilok or Sandakan area.

Day 2: Sepilok, Sandakan

Free at leisure to explore the area. If you are staying in the Sepilok area, you will find the Rainforest Discovery Centre, Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre and Bornean Sun Bear Conservation Centre within walking distance.

We will pick you up from the resort and transfer you to the Sandakan Jetty to catch a one-hour boat ride to Selingan Island.

Check-in into the chalet and spend the day at leisure, swimming or snorkelling. After dinner, you will be divided into small groups while waiting for the signal from the park ranger for the appropriate time to see the green turtle laying eggs on the beach.

You will also have the opportunity to witness the eggs being transferred to the turtle hatchery from the nesting site and witness the release of the baby turtles onto the shore. Overnight stay at the island chalet.

Day 3: Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre / Kinabatangan River Wildlife Cruise

After breakfast, you will visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Watch a short video documentary of the rehabilitation activities before taking a stroll on the boardwalk through the lowland rainforest to witness the feeding of the Orangutans at 10.00 am.

After lunch, transfer by land or boat to one of the lodges along the mighty Kinabatangan River. One of the options is the multi-award-winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

After checking in and enjoying your afternoon refreshment, you will go on a river cruise in search of some of the 10 primate species. Sukau is home to a lot of Borneo’s magnificent wildlife such as the famous Bornean pygmy elephants, orangutans, proboscis monkeys and all eight species of the big hornbill birds in Borneo.

Day 4: Kinabatangan River

Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills, enjoy your soothing hot Sabah tea in the morning.

Early, you will go on a morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife.

In the afternoon, you will proceed to have another river cruise on the Kinabatangan River for more wildlife sightings and indulge yourself in the peaceful tropical nature.

Day 5: Sandakan / Kota Kinabalu / Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort

After breakfast, you will return to Sandakan by land or boat. From Sandakan, you will take your flight to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival in Kota Kinabalu, we will meet and transfer you to the 5-Star beach resort, Shangri-La Rasa Ria Resort.

Day 10: Departure Kota Kinabalu

It is time to say goodbye to Borneo! You will transfer to Kota Kinabalu Airport.
