We arise early and depart from the hotel in the morning for Tegalalang, an area famous for its beautiful terraced rice fields. You will get to visit the beautiful Gunung Kawi temple in Sebatu, which is famous for its fabulous holy spring. Continue to drive toward Kintamani through small villages dotted with coffee and clove plantations. Lunch will be provided in a local restaurant in Kintamani, overlooking the stunning vista of Mount Batur and its crater-lake.

In continuing up to the highlands, to the highest temple situated 1,745 meters above sea level, there are some stairs that must be overcome. But upon reaching the top, a matchless view from the Penulisan Temple will reveal itself. The temple was built in the 9th century and is architecturally and historically a gem of Bali.

On a highland plateau 1,200 meters above sea level, we will go up and enjoy the spectacular views of Lake Batur and the majestic volcano of the same name in the background. After that, we will drive down to Singaraja city on the way to visit the temple of Pura Beji in the village of Sangsit, which is famous for its unique Northern-Bali architecture.

Your guide will give you insight into mountain farming life and the importance of the plantations that once attracted the arrival of Europeans to the archipelago.

After that, pay a visit to the lovely waterfall and enjoy its refreshing breeze. We will continue to drive up to the highland of Bedugul to visit a colourful local fruit and flower market, as well as the 17th-century Ulun Danu temple on the shore of Lake Beratan.

Dedicated to the Goddess of the lake, this temple is of special importance for the rice farmers organizations as its water provide an important source of irrigation. Stop at Candikuing to visit a colourful local fruit and flower market before continuing with lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, we will continue toward Jatiluwih with its stunning terraced rice fields, which are considered to be one of the most beautiful on the island. The last stop will be the spectacular Tanah Lot temple, which is undoubtedly one of the most visited ones in Bali.

The temple is built on a volcanic rock, which is isolated from the mainland at high tides, giving its name that means ‘island on the sea’. Weather permitting, this is an ideal place to watch the sunset while listening to the waves of the Indian Ocean crashing onto the rocks.
