Full Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival Kuching
Welcome to The Land of the Hornbills, Sarawak. Upon arrival at Kuching airport, we will pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. You will stay centrally in Kuching close to the river.

Day 2: Bako National Park
We depart to Kampung (village) Bako for our boat transfer to Bako National Park. From rainforest to mangrove swamp, from strange beautiful rock formations to the sandy beach, Bako has it all. Wildlife abounds, with many species of birds, monkeys, reptiles and insects easily seen. But the star attraction of the Park is Borneo’s icon – The Proboscis Monkeys. This tour will take visitors to hike along some of the most interesting jungle trails where wildlife can easily be spotted. Return to Kuching in the evening.

Day 3: Semenggoh Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre / Kuching City Tour
n the morning depart from the hotel. Experience an up-close and personal encounter with nature at Semenggoh Orangutan Centre. Located about 40 minutes away from Kuching, the centre is home to semi-wild orangutans which you can observe in their natural habitat. A half-kilometre path will take you through the jungle to a viewing area where visitors can observe the feeding of the orangutans. You will be greeted by a spectacular view of the rainforest canopy while witnessing semi-wild and young orangutans as they come down from the jungle to have their meal from the feeding platform.
Return to the city and experience the best of Kuching. Take a walk on the Waterfront, with its outdoor cafes and watch sampans plying the Sarawak River. Stop by the Sarawak State Museum, to admire an exceptional ethnographic collection and good natural history displays. Pass by the Astana, which is the official residence of the governor of Sarawak. Visit the Tua Pek Kong Temple, the oldest temple in Kuching and an important part of the city’s heritage trail. Stop by The Old Courthouse, a historical courthouse in Kuching. Lastly, view at Fort Margherita from the opposite side of the river – an old fort constructed in 1879 by Charles Brooke which is now an important landmark and monument in Sarawak’s history.

Day 4: Kuching
The day is free to relax and explore Kuching on your own.

Day 5: Kuching / Mulu National Park
Pick up from your hotel in Kuching and transfer to Kuching Airport to catch the flight to Mulu. Upon arrival at the Mulu Airport, we will meet you and transfer you to your accommodation at Mulu Marriott Resort. In the afternoon, trek for 3 km on a plank walk to Deer Cave and Lang Cave. At sunset, witness the exodus of millions of bats from the caves at the observatory platform.

Day 6: Mulu National Park
After breakfast, proceed by longboat to Batu Bungan, a Penan Settlement for a visit. Continue the boat journey to Wind cave and Clearwater Cave. Enjoy picnic lunch and swimming at the Clearwater spring before returning to Mulu for overnight.

Day 7: Mulu National Park
The day is free and there is time to visit the park on your own.

Day 8: Mulu / Kota Kinabalu
Depart your hotel for the transfer to Mulu airport. Today, your next destination is Kota Kinabalu. We will meet you at Kota Kinabalu Airport and transfer your hotel in the city centre.

Day 9: Tambunan – Crocker Range
Pick up from hotel in Kota Kinabalu. We proceed through the beautiful Crocker Range Mountains. Along the way, we will pass by rustic villages and paddy fields of Tambunan. When in Tambunan, stop by Kampung Sunsuron to visit the Watu Tinuridong, one of what used to be a series of huge rocks that were used as the fortress of the villagers during Mat Salleh’s attack on the village. Wrap up your tour with a visit to Mahua Waterfall. Located at Kampung Patau, Tambunan, the Mahua Waterfall is a plunge-waterfall, which is approximately 10-17 metres in height. We will stay for the night in Kundasang with a beautiful view to Mount Kinabalu.

Day 10: Kinabalu National Park and Poring Hot Springs
In the morning we take a short drive to Kinabalu Park. Visit the Natural History Gallery for a short introduction to the park. Take a walk with your guide to explore the rich diversity of plant species inhabiting the Montane forest. Kinabalu Park boasts more than 5,000 vascular plant species, an estimated 1,000 orchid species, 621 fern species, nine Nepenthes species, 29 Rhododendron species and two Rafflesia species.
Continue to Poring Hot spring. Upon arrival, trek up to the “Canopy Walk” built 41m above the ground. Free and easy or soak yourself in one of the open air sulphur spring bathtub. In the afternoon we drive to Kota Kinabalu where you will stay for the night.

Day 11: Kota Kinabalu / Sandakan / Kinabatangan River
Pick up early in the morning from your hotel to catch the early flight to Sandakan. Arrive Sandakan, transfer to the Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Centre. Watch a short video documentary of the rehabilitation activities before taking a boardwalk through the lowland rainforest to witness the feeding of the Orang Utan at 1000hrs. Thereafter visit the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about the conservation of the world’s smallest bear.
After lunch, proceed to the multi awards winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge along Sabah’s longest river, Kinabatangan with the opportunity to view birds and wildlife in virgin mangroves, wetland and rainforest habitats. After check-in and afternoon refreshment, we take a river cruise using electric motor in search of some of the 10 primate species. Sukau is home to Borneo pygmy elephants, orangutans, proboscis monkeys and all eight species of hornbills in Borneo.
Return for a solar-heated hot shower, candlelight dinner overlooking the riverbank followed by a slide show and interpretation by a naturalist guide. Overnight in Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

Day 12: Sukau / Kinabatangan River
Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills and hot Sabah tea. A 0600hrs morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, proceed for an educational tour on the in-house Hornbill Boardwalk located behind the lodge with our in-house naturalist. In the afternoon, we proceed for another river cruise for more wildlife. Overnight at Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

Day 13: Sukau / Sandakan / Sepilok
After breakfast, return to Sandakan. Visit Rainforest Discovery Centre. Take a bird view of the centre from the canopy walk and hanging bridge before exploring the botanical garden, home to various species of flora. Overnight at Sepilok area.

Day 14: Sandakan / Lankayan Island
From Sepilok, we will transfer you to Sandakan Jetty for an approximately 2-hour boat transfer to Lankayan Island. Check-in upon arrival and spend the rest of the day at leisure.

Day 15: Lankayan Island
Lankayan Island is a tropical jewel. The island has its own turtle conservation program and it’s possible to view turtles coming ashore to lay eggs. When there are new baby titles hatching they will be released on the beach by the rangers.

Day 16: Lankayan Island
Lankayan Island is surrounded by coral reefs and offers amazing snorkelling and diving.

Depart to the mainland after breakfast followed by transfer to Sandakan Airport to catch your departure flight home.
