Day 1: Welcome to Kuala Lumpur

Upon arrival at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), we will meet you up and transfer you to your hotel.

Here, you will experience the bustling metropolitan of Kuala Lumpur; also known as the ‘garden city of lights’, which is famous for its shopping, nightlife and delicious food. Witness the intoxicating modernity of KL City as the city that never sleeps. Don’t forget to take this opportunity to shop and eat!

Day 2: Kuala Lumpur

After breakfast, you will begin your day with a tour around the Kuala Lumpur Heritage Walk. During this tour, you will get to see important landmarks, such as Masjid Jamek, the Central Market, Little India and Chinatown. This tour will give you plenty of opportunities to work on your street photography and do some souvenir shopping.

In the afternoon, after lunch, you will resume your day tour with a trip to the Petronas Twin Towers. During this tour, you will get to enjoy the view over the city from the Twin Towers bridge. An internationally recognised masterpiece, this iconic tower powerfully captures the aspirations of a nation hurtling into the future.

Day 3: Kuala Lumpur / Sandakan / Sepilok

In the morning, you will check out from your hotel and we will transfer you to the Kuala Lumpur International Airport to catch your flight to the Nature City of Sandakan on the island of Borneo.

Upon arrival at Sandakan Airport, you will be transferred to Sepilok area for your stay for the night. It will be free and easy for the rest of the day, so you can take this opportunity to explore the nearby Rainforest Discovery Centre.

Day 4: Sepilok Orangutan Centre / Kinabatangan River

After breakfast, you will visit the Sepilok Orangutan Rehabilitation Centre. Watch a short video documentary of the rehabilitation activities before taking a stroll on the boardwalk through the lowland rainforest to witness the feeding of the Orangutans at 10.00 am. Thereafter visit the Borneo Sun Bear Conservation Centre to learn about the conservation of the world’s smallest bear.

After lunch, transfer by land or speedboat to the multi awards winning Sukau Rainforest Lodge along Sabah’s longest river, Kinabatangan. If you transfer by boat you will have the opportunity to view birds and wildlife in virgin mangroves, wetland and rainforest habitats. After check-in and afternoon refreshment, we take a river cruise using electric motor in search of some of the 10 primate species. Sukau is home to Borneo pygmy elephants, orangutans, proboscis monkeys and all eight species of hornbills in Borneo.

Return for solar heated hot shower, candlelight dinner overlooking the riverbank followed by a slide show and interpretation by naturalist guide. Overnight in Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

Day 5: Kinabatangan River

Wake up to the calls of gibbons and hornbills and hot Sabah tea!

At 6.00 am, you will go on a morning river cruise up the Kinabatangan River to Kelenanap oxbow lake to view more birds and wildlife. After breakfast, proceed to have an educational tour at our own in-house Hornbill Boardwalk, located behind the lodge with the in-house naturalist.

In the afternoon, you will proceed to have another river cruise for more wildlife sightings. Overnight stay at the Sukau Rainforest Lodge.

Day 6: Sandakan / Kota Kinabalu

After breakfast, return to Sandakan. After lunch, we will drop you off at Sandakan Airport to take your flight to Kota Kinabalu. Upon arrival at Kota Kinabalu, you will then be transferred to your hotel Grandis, located in the heart of Kota Kinabalu. The rest of the day is free for your own activity.

You can opt to go shopping, relax, or spend your day at the spa. You can also scout for the best places to enjoy local food as well as fresh seafood while you’re here.

Day 7: Kota Kinabalu City and Food Tour

Explore the lesser-known hot spots in KK City and experience Sabah’s exuberant food culture like never before!

This food tour is inclusive of a KK City day tour where you will be taken around the bustling KK markets in search of delicious offerings, enjoy Tenom coffee and other teatime delights.

Day 8: Kota Kinabalu

Day 9: Kota Kinabalu / Rawa Island

After having your breakfast and checking out from your hotel, you will be picked up and transferred to Kota Kinabalu International Airport for the final leg of your journey: Rawa Island.

Upon arriving at the Johor Bahru Airport, you will then be transferred to Rawa Island via speedboat from Mersing Jetty and will be checking in at Rawa Island Resort. The rest of the day is free and easy for you to enjoy.

Day 10: Rawa Island

It’s another day in paradise! Rawa Island sparks pinch-yourself moments as you step onto the sand while you are surrounded by endless tropical beauty that stretches along the South China Sea.

Time to hit the beach and soak up the sun. Don’t forget your sunblock and a good book.

Day 11: Rawa Island

Today, take the time to discover Rawa Island and learn a thing or two about the underwater world. Do also take the time to go diving, snorkelling or take part in any water sport activity while you’re at it.

Day 12: Rawa Island

There are a few short trekking trails available for those who like to experience the lush rainforest close up. You can experience hundreds of species of flora and fauna.

Day 15: Departure from Johor Bahru or Singapore

Every good thing will eventually come to an end, it’s time for you to go home.

After breakfast and checking out, you will be transferred back by speedboat to Mersing Jetty on the mainland.

From Mersing Jetty, there is a 2 hours land transfer to Kota Bahru Airport (many domestic destinations) and 4-5 hours to Kuala Lumpur and Singapore Airports (both many international destinations).
